Just received my CD-E5 today. If it weren't for the holiday weekend, I would have received it in like 2 days! It sounds great even connected to my low end receiver and speakers, but I'm still waiting on the delivery of my GS-1 (hopefully by the weekend) before I can really get a feel for its performance. I'm taking the opportunity right now to start burning it in. Oh, no marble slab for me. Did they run out, or did they think it was confusing people too much?
So, it's really worthwhile to replace the fuse with the silver one. Hmm...

I have the CD E5 as well and was wondering if any of you leave the unit on 24/7. I've done this with my previous player (Yamaha) with good results in sound quality.
Before doing anything I would listen to it a little while first. If you find the XLR outputs lacking I think I would consider an OPAMP change first. After trying that you could try the Zapfilter, Garbz' unbalanced to balanced convertor or my personal choice would be to install some sort of transformer output on the Eastsound.
