Default looking for a budget cd player ( 100-250)

Hello,
As a late christmas gift I can get anything within the 100-250 dollar price range. Since I don't really have a source right now ( I use my Zen and PC) I was looking into a home CD player. I have read and I understand that used cd players are much beter value for the $, but being a gift something new would be preferrable.
So, what new cd players in that price range would be worth considering?
BTW, if there's really nothing that great, I can wait and get something better. That's sort of a last resort type of thing though...

Thanks

Try looking for the Sony SCD-CE595. Don't expect any miracles, but it has a good reputation.

I unfortunately don't have an amp, although I will get one soon. So in the meantime I would prefer something with a headphone jack.
thanks, though. anyone else?

Proved that despite its huge size, the CD3000 can be shoved down one's throat.

Take a look at the Marantz CD5001... a bit of a stretch on your budget, but a pretty decent headphone output

Tivoli CD, they list at $200 but they can be had for a lot less, just cruise the net.

The Oppo players don't have headphone jacks.

I agree that the Oppo is a good choice but without a headphone out jack, you'll need something else to go with it. Maybe the Tivoli, but I haven't read too much about this. The Marantz is a good choice if you can find one in your budget.
