Putting a new setup together. AKG K701's (others to come probably ), Mapletree Ear+HD but I still need a source. I have other sources but would rather not canabalize them for this setup. I was thinking of using an ALO iMod dock but should I go dedicated CD/DVD? Budget would be about $500. I can go over if the price is justified.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I'd recommend the NAD C542. I've had mine for 2 weeks and I absolutely love it. Huge step up from the Oppo I was using. You can get one new for $500 or a little less, and around $360 refurbished.

You could get a nice used Rega Planar 3/P3 for that. It would sound terrific with the tubes and K-701.

Ahh a turntable. Of course. Sadly I do not have any vinyl where this setup will be used and would rather not ship it there. For moving purposes I would like it to be CD/DVD or iMod. Thanks for the advice Uncle Erik..Will keep in mind for other uses
Anyone with thoughts on the iMod dock with the Mapletree Ear+HD and K701's?
