Sure, I don't see why not...that can be arranged. A work buddy is going to hang on to it for a while, but when I have it back, I'll let you know. I'd be interested in hearing your Rotels too, so maybe even a road trip to Santa Cruz can be worked out as well!

HighLife, if you want to do the DAC shootout too, let me know. This DAC is probably going to be doing more travelling this year than I am...*sigh*...

This sounds fine. I live by the beach in Santa Cruz so you could probably make a day out of it. I LOVE my rotel. I have been considering the matching CDP for awhile now but most of my listening is computer based and I don't have a lot of CD's. But yeah, you're welcome to come down, and I will probably be moving up to the Santa Clara area in August for an even easier trip.

I have some really good "reference" CD's I can bring...we'll see. I wouldn't mind the drive to Santa Cruz. Hwy 17 is fun!

Reminds me. I've used OMZ daily for a pretty long time now, which doesn't happen with anything that doesn't cut it.

Feed it good power, cord, IC..

what transport do u used to feed the omz? and what power cord, IC u used?

the clarity, detail level, bass impact of my omz is not as good as my tglink enabled zhaolu d3, but the omz has a very analog sound i really like. i wish i have the best of both world.

i wonder if i have not unleashed the full potential of my omz by using my
emu1212 asio out/spdif coax out as transport?

x2 I love the smoothness and easy listenability of the OMZ but at the same time not at the expense of detail.

At least the non OMZ Zhaolu's with opamp outputs are brighter, more forward, etc, and can be more impressive in short A-B comparisons. Over long haul, it doesn't sound natural. OMZ, well-fed, has one of the MOST detailed and resolved midrange I've ever heard; the sonic "pixels" being smaller and finer than most others at 5-10x the price.

The treble extension/impact as well as bass impact (which will never become warm and fuzzy and boomy) will come with care. I use.

Lynx 2B spdif output, with modified spdif coax adapter so I can use any digital cable. Before the mod, Lynx digital output with stock breakout cables was not good enough.

Stereovox XV2 digital cable. Incredible cable and relatively cheap, too.

Foobar version 0.8.3 with Otachan ASIO 47a. Any other later Foobar or any other ASIO plugin loses the magic clarity in my setup.

PS Audio Transcendent interconnects. Just like OMZ, these don't sound "impressive" at first but is incredibly non-colored over long-term.

Really good power conditioner. I use XS Technologies Strata battery-backed pure sine-wave regenerator, modded. Makes a big difference. Unfortunately, the company is no longer around.

Power cable. I alternate between Black Sands Violet Z1 and Lessloss. Either will suffice.
