WHICH DAC ?????

A - OMZ v4.1

or

B - Zhaolu 2.5c + zapfilter II

or

C - other DAC + zapfilter II


Out of the 3, I have listened to the OMZ and liked it a lot. But want to evaluate and get comments on others.

Is B as good or better than A?

If going for C, which commercial DAC would match with the ZF well?
I know what sound I like, but I do not want to overbuy either.

anyone? All I've seen written up is the zapped zhaolu. is it because it's modular? Are there other DACs out there that are tested to take the zf?

I would get the zapfilter, you get a lot more for your money. Plus the zapfilter can be moved to another DAC when you decide to upgrade to something nicer like a PCM1704 based dac.
