Question about spatialization and head tracking

Hi !

I just want to know what do you think about having a head tracker on headphones so as to follow head's movements when listening to "3D audio" (a kind of "spatializated music") music or playing a game in front of your PC.

Thank for your response...

ManueReva.

Welcome to Head-Fi.

Don't think many here use 3D audio nor do most use a tracker; so your pool of respondants will be small. Have patience, some one will respond with good info in time.

I feel it would be a great feature for gaming, but it's not a high res solution for music and I don't know of any way to take a surround sound format and mix it down to 2-channel (headphones) and keep the surround field intact. Sony makes a multi- channel headphone; but I don't think it is highly regarded by music lovers on this forum.

Good luck - or God bless - your choice,
