Sense we are comparing the 3's to the E500 and since you own a pair yourself, who would win in Isolation? Also is the input jack nickel or gold?
Thank you p0wderh0und23
Best of Luck
Ya know honestly, I've never run a comparrison like that between the two. They are both in the 25dB range, that much I can say, but which one is a higher number.... yeah not 100%.
They will be available through Variphone, our European distributor. They have shops all over the EU. Contact them at info@inears.com.
I've had a response back from Variphone, to be honest the response was useless and I have no further information.
I think I'll have to bite the bullet and order via Earphonesolutions via FedEx and take the hit on import..... The price we pay for wanting such products.

IMHO - the mids are pretty much the same and the lows are tighter, fuller, more accurate in response. The E500 is still good, I'm not slamming it in any way.
But what aabout the 'rolled highs' people complain about with the 500s?
No rolled highs. Very clear, accurate an almost "airy" feeling with cymbal swells. Lots of headroom.
Hmm, something tells me you might want to sell them to me.
Out of curiosity if I have a pair of UM2s will westone be doing any trade up programmes as in send in your UM2s (perfect condition) and get a reduced price upgrade?
I don't suppose we're allowed to do westone 3 trials?
it is very costly after all...
Not to slam one of our own products, but for high-quality personal listening the 3 smokes the UM2. That is feedback from several who have heard it agaist the UM2 and my personal feelings.
That sounds great!
I love my Westone UM2's for portable use, and can't wait to get my hands on the Westone 3.
Nicely done... nicely done.
*kicks himself*
OK, so keeping in mind that it's no longer April Fool's Day, are we talking about more prototypes, or the finished product?
Can we talk about soundstage? Being new to IEMs, my understanding is that the term soundstage refers to the sense of spaciousness a headphone conveys, both in terms of what direction an instrument is playing from and its distance from listener. So, that's my understanding of soundstage, correct me if I'm wrong. I listen to classical, where the music needs to breathe and have a sense of depth. Ideally, I want to hear the sound traveling through space, from the instrument to me, and then away from me. Am I describing decay? I want to feel the body of sound, its weight, pushing through the air. Does this make sense?
That being said, how is the soundstage of the 3 compared to the UM2? I'm sure it's better, but I'm hoping its substantially better, because I'm really not impressed with the UM2 in this regard (one of its few drawbacks). I realize that IEMs can only do so much with conveying space, but it seemed that my old E4c bested my UM2 on soundstage.
