I am just wondering, why does the Westone 3 have a different signature than the UM2s? I hppe it stays more warm rather than detailed like the E500s. This is the main reason I like the Westone lineup.
It has a different signature because it was designed for personal listening. It's still warm and has the Westone signature to it. It's just more detailed and performs better out of a personal listening device.
No, please please please go with the detailed sound signature instead
I'm not entirely sold on my triple.fi phones because of the lack of isolation (I miss my Comply's, dammit!) and slight recession in the upper mids. Am still debating whether I'd rather take the recessed bass on the ER-4P with the better isolation or the recessed mids of the triple.fi. From the sound of things, it sounds like the Westone 3 will be just right...

ER-6i -> ER-4P -> Auditioned Triple.fi #52/1000, didn't like the midrange recession -> ER-4P -> Shure SE310 -> Atrio M5 -> LiveWires (when my Atrios ended up as roadkill, very sad) -> Atrio M5 -> Auditioned q-Jays, thought they were a little too uneven and very finicky with recording quality -> Atrio M5 -> auditioned Denon AH-C700, didn't like the lack of isolation -> Atrio M5 -> auditioned Klipsch Custom-3 and wasn't impressed -> Atrio M5 -> Sleek SA6 (under testing, but initial impression brands them as a keeper)

What was the UM2 designed for, if not personal listening?

I have one small request for the Westone 3's. Is there any way you could make the y-split in the cable lower than the UM2's? I tend to wear my UM2's over my ears but with the cable in front. While wearing them this way, the y-split is too tight on my chin. It looks like I have a draw string around my neck or something. I know they are meant to go down my back, but this is not convenient when sitting down or when wearing a backpack. This is just a suggestion, so here's hoping. Thanks, CK

It was brought up to increase the length about 2". I'll check on that and see if it was done.
Still on track for a March release? When can we start pre-ordering?
