You know...metallic ANYTHING would be cool. Now that someone mentioned it, a metallic red or blue would be pretty sweet...

I want shiny, people!

Also...rainbow?

Cool. Bring your iRiver rig. I'd like to see it as well. Feel free to bring other cans/earphones and A/B then to the 3. Feedback is MORE than welcome.

clears would be nice. i favor subtlety and would certainly prefer a portable product to sound great rather than attract possibly unwanted attention. for pretty cans one can turn to headphile.

I'll second this. Some say clears are bad because they look like hearing aids, but personally I prefer clear UM2's over the black ones. Part of it is that they look so different from the usual earbud, and still remain quite inconspicuous. The finishing could be improved though, current models have that uneven surface which makes them cheaper looking.

X2

It's good that something that costs you around $400 doesn't stand out too much. I'd rather have a low profile iem that blends in within my ears then a fancy shiny glossy thing that looks really expensive and too attractive.

My 2 cents.

I suspect march will be a good month for new aural experimentations !

Oh, BTW I found a pic of a Westone 3 prototype, scroll down to almost the bottom of the page

I'll throw in anothe vote for the clear option on the casing. I actually think the clear is nice and simple, and looks pretty cool since you can see what's inside.

I don't know why some think that clear casings look like hearing aids, because most of the ones I've seen are flesh coloured. With clear, most people don't even notice I'm wearing anything, it just doesn't stand out. Though when they talk to me, and I can't hear them, they think I should be wearing hearing aids.

I would go with metallic silver. I wouldn't mind black, but I really don't like the shade of black in the UM2's. I don't really know what it is about it, it just looks wrong to me.

I would agree on a metallic finish, and would keep it to a silver, dark gray or black. I wouldn't use a color like blue as that's way too personal on what people would like or not like, and might drive some buyers away. A neutral color wouldn't.
