I agreed with you on the amplification forum... but I disagree with you about YOUR preconceived notion that I intended to BASH or INSULT anyone with my *yawn*... that (and here's where electronic media fails us every time) was more or less a statement of "Not again.." You very eloquently made a statement on the other forum about "riding the hype train"... well, from the looks of it... the "hype train" was about to pull into this forum... There's a fine line between what I hope to see, and "hyping and item up"... I admitted in my original post that I did NOT hear this IEM, more than likely I will once it's made available.. but, my message was a more or less let's not lose our heads over something (which a majority of people tend to do...I highly doubt every poster here has heard those IEMs except me) still in "prototype" stage and will be so until it's on the shelves available to be purchased.
And yes, I do believe that there is a level of "marketing" that goes on... when you think about it, what do IEM or any manufacture REALLY care about??? We all need to eat and keep our car payment up no? It would be totally naive to think that producing "profits" via viral marketing or whatever you want to call it doesn't exist! This is a capitalist society
Look at ALL of my threads in total (200+ posts, low number yes) and I'm a "troll".. don't think so.
And, I was kidding about the "amendment line"... It's a website, I could be booted within the next 5 mins. and?? the only saving grace would probably be my wallet gaining some weight, as I, in the past have jumped aboard that hype train.
look, this thread is a SPONSORED thread by westone to market their new product. it's designed partially to inform, partially to get some feedback, and partially to get people interested. so what's the big deal? that's what marketing is for.
for someone who hasn't even heard it yet, how can you be so certain about what it is and what it isn't? and why the need to rain on someone else's parade?
this is not to say that the thread must be all positive...i've heard the 3 and really like it...but i've heard other westone products that i haven't liked, such as the UM2. my post above was meant to be instructive to other people who are interested in the 3 but haven't yet had a chance to listen to them, so i provide a reference comparing the 3 to the UM2. i think what zanth is saying is that your post really does nothing to inform others...and while your post may not be intentionally malicious, it's not particularly helpful or informative...

Haha.. I'm NOT raining on anyone's parade... did you hear me say "DONT BUY THE PRODUCT!!!!!" ???? umm.. no.
I NEVER said there's anything wrong with marketing, heck if the place where I worked didn't market, I'd be out of a job.... so nothing bad there...
for the last time, I just said "Hey guys, let's keep a level head about this", you never know, it's still a prototype, it may change for the better\worse\or not at all by final production time.. sooooooo... let's all chill... But, you know what... I see my words our landing on deaf ears (really need to turn the volume down on those amps!).. so.. with that... I'm done!
Have fun! Oh Oh is that sunshine coming back out??...

oh my bad...you weren't raining on the parade...you were "putting a damper on the party." my mistake for choosing the wrong metaphor.
and you certainly did imply that there's something wrong with marketing - that they're only in it to pad their bottom lines and prey on the poor newbies. which is highly insulting, IMO. if that's how you say, "let's keep a level head," then i'd hate to hear how you really criticize someone...oh, if you forgot what you really said, here it is:
*YAWN*... I don't mean to put a damper on your... "party" but c'mon! Enough is enough... wake up! I know I haven't demo'ed the lil bugger yet, but... I HIGHLY doubt it's going to be a WOW experience... or something that's going to make me wanna toss my E500s or whatever just to own. We're fantasizing and speculating, and deluding ourselves into the poor house with this inane addiction... The @%#$ iems will be out when they're out, but until then enjoy what you have now... which from some of the sigs, seem like pretty decent enough gear..
I just needed to get that off my chest...
The marketing crew just love the newbs... just enough fuel to increase their bottom lines! *sigh*.. I'm in the wrong business!
oh, and a certain morph201 started this thread on the westone 3...why? FS: GoVibe 3 w/ AD8620

Morph... When I had my thread about Westone UM2 or Shure E500, you were constantly telling me how great the IEM was. I think you are overly obsessed with your Shure E500. If you don't like it, then go away! No one is telling you to be looking at this thread. People have different tastes, some like Shure, others like Westone. It sounds like you are saying "DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT!" and buy the E500. You haven't heard of the prototype at all so you can't make a judgment about a product. If people like the prototype Westone 3's, then let them rave about it! (Quote: Morph201) "I HIGHLY doubt it's going to be a WOW experience..." Does that not sound like you are doubting a product before you've even heard it? Seriously, don't say or doubt anything before you've tried it. I had to get THAT off MY chest.

Guys, it's really freekin' enough already. No one really wants to read about anything but what the original post's context is all about. PM each other or get a hotel room if you want instead. It's annoying, especially when people think that when there's a new post, it's may be a pic or more reviews on said product.
Enough.

It's all good man, I already noted that your clarification was fine, but that I still initially took it as trolling. Also, please note that you are in a PAID sponsor thread. Of course this is advertising. THEY PAID TO DO IT! Also, folks who have heard the units are making comparisons to other phones they have heard or own. I heard the prototype of the E500 for over a month and it sounds the same as the released model. At the stage of the CES, I doubt the sound will be changing that much, just the fit and feel.
Anyhow, if I thought you were all out trolling I would have sent you a warning.
