so far build quality is above what i expected everthing is solid, batteries are indeed included but the damn amp doesnt turn on unless there is something plugged into the line in and output.
my zune is being serviced for that crappy screen i was talking about and my IC hasnt come yet and im loaning my PA2V2 out.
so basically im screwed until wednesday when all my crap comes back.

Keep us informed on the sound. Mine has arrived already but will stay at my local PO until Saturday (when I have the time to pick up all parcels).

dude, you got a computer and some desktop speakers, right? Go check and see if you got an older pair of desktop speakers and pull out the cable from the computer to the speakers, that will work as an IC for now until your real one comes in.

Hey Chris... PM me if you wanted to meet up. I have a bunch of sub -$100 amps we can compare it with. My sony D335 will knock your socks off when used with Grados. I have a really nice sounding head-direct silver-IC too, that we can throw into the mix.
I live about 15 minutes south of you.
LOL!.. funny pic!! Poor guy... can't even turn it on to watch the glowing LED
In my CD Player:
Dreamtheater, Queen, Rush, Marillion, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Dio, Queensryche, Kings-X, Jethro', Yes, Primus, Eric Johnson, Liquid Tension Experiment, Junior Brown, Moody Blues, The Beatles, Styx, Asia
Can you see which chip(s) is/are powering this amp? I'm dying to scan over datasheets late at night again
My understanding is the amp can not be taken apart and re-assembled without "damaging" it. The screw-heads are taped (or glued?) over. Accessing the screws would require one to tear/cut through the tape to open it up, and there-by void the warranty.

I'll let Chris elaborate though.
I got mine today. Since the power plug is incompatible with German 220V wall sockets, I expected to recharge batteries myself -> Meaning that I had to open the case anyway for he occasional battery swapping. There's just a sticker with a void-warranty-warning to break, it's placed over one of the two screws holding the (Hammond) case together.
Aside from what you can see on the pics on the first page, there are to chips on the underside of the PCB. Both are 8-legged SOIC packages and I have a strong feeling that each of them drives one channel. Now for the 1 million question "exactly what chips are we talking about?", I sadly have no answer - the markings on each chip have been thoroughly removed.
