Smile I2S connector standard pinout...? (RJ-45)

I know it's an odd question since there is no real standard for I2S connectors but I am aware of a few manufacturers using RJ-45 for "proprietary" I2S connections. And the inexpensive and handy Pop-Pulse SPDIF-II unit also has an RJ-45 I2S output (with clear labeling of the pinouts).

My next project in my head involves a non-OS DAC that takes I2S only and want to follow some sort of a semi-standard if it exists.

I believe a certain cable manufacturer even sell audiophile grade RJ-45/CAT5 cables just for this purpose so there's got to be some common pinout, is my thinking.

Any insights into this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I use a cat5e cable with RJ45 connector from my ESI Juli@ soundcard to the North Star m192 DAC.

The pinout is as follows:

I2S
I2s Data
Serial Bit Clock
Left/Right Word Clock
Master Clock

CAT5
Brown / Brown-White
Green / Green-White
Blue / Blue-White
Orange / Orange-White

RJ45
8 - Serial Bit Clock (64fs)
7 - Serial Bit Clock Ground
6 - I2S Data
5 - I2S Data Ground
4 - Left/Right Word Clock (fs)
3 - Left/Right Word Clock Ground
2 - Master Clock (256fs)
1 - Master Clock Ground

Thanks for your response! FYI, the IIS data out pins on the Pop Pulse are as follows:

(with locking tab at bottom, from left to right, facing the faceplate)

1. n/c
2. LRCK
3. BCK
4. GND
5. DV+
6. SCLK
7. SDATA
8. n/c

So it looks like the Pop Pulse has a different pinout vs. the North Star DACs. Interestingly, there's the DV+ (5V?) and GND pins...

Anyway, thanks for your input! It looks like the best way to design my DAC/headamp is to have the pins switchable/configurable internally (via jumper wires or something) as there really is no firm standard to this.
