Default help needed: how to peel/take off heatshrink from wire?

i got some heatshrink on a strand of two 26 gauge wires, and i want to peel it off.
as i am looking at it, it looks pretty hard.
any advice on how to do it?

make a lengthwise cut with a razor blade/x-acto knife? Shouldn't be that difficult. If it's the type with that adhesive stuff, a bit of extra heat might help, though you might have some extra adhesive to cope with later.

What exactly do you mean by "strand," though?

Start with small wire cutters and go lengthwise.
