Grado RA1 help needed

I decided to fire up my RA1/SR225 combo this weekend and I get hardly any output. I've tried replacing the batteries with a bunch of other 9V I had laying around and nothing changes. I have the unit plugged into a Sony Walkman which seems to be working properly. I have the volume on the Walkman turned up all the way. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Hope I'm in the right forum. Thanks to all.
