Well here is the first baby piccolino the UBER wire that I was talking about. The story with this wire is that I bought a 50cm Crystal Cable 'Piccolino' (or flexible piccolo) Dock->piccolino 7N silver/gold stranded coax->Eichmann Silver Bullets. And 50cm is far too long to be used in any kind of portable way; 50cm is the longest length that steve is selling in LOD->RCA. I bought the cable to use with an upcoming project: DIYMOD with DIY Mundorf silver/gold/oil and teflon VCAP dockto be used with SE530's, Senn HD25's and any purchses I make after which is probably a full size Dynasone or customs. So because I couldn't buy bare wire and I wanted some silver bullets anyway for the LOD->rca I bought the 50cm dock and chopped it (the 100cm in total) up into little pieces (shortened it) to make a 4" long dock->mini (using 16cm of wire) i'm also currently working on a low profile one too and trying to see if I can fit Blackgates and USB charging/syncing into such a small area, using the epoxy putty that I have mentioned earlier in the thread to fabricate a dock casing. its great this stuff, so means that it looks like i'm going to be able to do it. also i'm building a shorter replacement for the Dock->silver bullets LOD to be used with the VCap and DIYmod; using the parts left over. and there should be easily enough wire left to hardwire the mini plug at the other end of the VCAP to go into my pico->phones.
The piccolino is coaxial wire so only 2 strands is needed for anything from a LOD to a balanced headphone cable. And once you've stripped the inside Kaplon coated wire (which is a real PITA) its actually really easy to work with. Anyway you guys might think i'm crazy for chopping up a perfectly useable cable but for my purposes it was much to long and i've actually ended up better off. the bare wire is not available to work with so this was my only choice. i'll be hanging onto these for a very long time; i'm keeping them all to my greedy self muhahaha. I believe Stevekelby has some crystal Cables piccolino IC's for sale though
anyhow enough blabber from me here's some pics only finished the first dock so far.
Sounds fantastic too. dead silent background and very revealing. It really lets my system speak for itself, and has pretty much ended my search for the perfect wire except maybe the crystal cabes reference series except if I can find a way to get digital out of my DIYMOD while portable; then I could iuse the same wire I guess anyway considering its coaxial. V another shot

nothing crazy, but it's super durable and I do like the look of the tinned shield thru the black nylon.

who are you calling crazy?
Good work man well apart from the different lengths;P but as you say the experience is worth its weight in gold. I really like the green heatshrink on black; cool look I like green and black together and yeah I like the look of seeing through the black (or whatever) nylon I actually buy techflex that is a little smaller than the recommended size so I get that effect consistently.
good one man keep it up

Wow, I really like your cable. I love the green on black, but why two layers of sleeving?
@ Lil' Knight. You're obsessed. You don't even own a Sennheiser. What cable do you use anyway?

BTW Lil knight I forgot to say nice looking cable on the 650's how do you find using the 22AWG on a headphone cable, Is it as flexible as the jena 22AWG?. Says in your sig that its solely for the dorm but have you left the house with that thing on? LOL. ;P

Actually it's not as flexible as the Jena. The Jena is the most flexible wire until now I've tried but it's so expensive.
I'm an international student so I'm in the dorm all the time Last week while I was soldering, the fire alarm went off. I was scared to death. Luckily, it was not me lol.
