....having problems with my cmoy. The + and - rails are split correctly into +6.4V and -6.4V but as soon as I plug in the opamp it changes to 7.6V and 5.2V.
The sound is severely distorted and I get crazy loud noise even with no input plugged in. can anyone spot anything wrong with my setup here? I have the 3.5mm jacks both grounded to the virtual ground.
Oh wait sorry I see what you are saying! lol. I have my PSU circuit on a different board so I already have what you are talking about.
This is my little PSU circuit rail splitter thingy DC is being fed by a wallwart 12v . And OMG, this amp is seriously loud and it's powering 300ohm HD 580s 1 question though, is it better to have the line out from the computer at 100% volume and control volume via a pot, or is it ok to just use the computer as the volume control..because this seems to work fine so far.
Just got my cmoy in an enclosure...changed out the power caps for 1500uF Sanyo WG and the bass seems tighter at high volumes The sound is very good through my HD-580s...I was expecting some background noise but there really is none at all! And it's running from the line-out on my onboard P5Q deluxe sound I have an ebay DAC that's arrived here so that's my next thing to do.
Quite pleased for my very first DIY project I did mess up on the LED hole though, made it too big. I might look for a larger LED to fill the hole up some more.
**edit** what happened to the other dude replying in this thread? Deleted all his posts? Now it looks like I'm talking to myself! lol
Cool, nice looking case and very professional with those feet
Rather than a bigger led couldn't you make up an internal countersunk led housing, plastic, metal or wood. ie just a piece of material with a hole for the led, countersunk on the side that could be seen from the outside?
Does this thread have a poltergeist? Not only a mysterious disappearing dude, but a comment about him seems to have gone missing as well?
