σ11 + γ1 + M³ BOMs
I have been following this forum for a while and finally decided to build a DAC and an amp. Since others (especially amb and Mister X) have contributed so much, I thought the least I could do was to post the BOMs for the units I will build (σ11 + γ1 + M³). Also, happy birthday amb! (Noticed it in your profile, since it is my birthday too.  )

Since this is my first post.... Electronics used to be a hobby of mine a looong time ago. I am so excited to have found this forum with such a friendly and helpful community, and to get started building audio components. I plan to use the units at work where I spend my days by a computer (programmer).

According to my messy BOM...
M³ Mouser = $41.89
Sigma Mouser = $24.89
amb M³ = $77.35
amb sigma = $27.19
Digikey = $36.56
Total = $207.88 (not including shipping and tax)
This is not including cases and little bits of pieces (RCA jacks, knobs, fancy stuff) that I don't need/have not thought about yet. Those kind of stuff can easily bump the price maybe $50 or $100 more. I kind of favor function over form, but for my next project I want it to look very nice, thanks to zkool448.

On the plus side, its a lot cheaper then a balanced B22 setup

Hmm, it seems like a balanced M3 is out of the question for me, at least for a long while. Too bad. I'll make a balanced SSMH to tide me over until then. Maybe even a balanced Bijou. It seems to be cheaper.

And with balanced amps there's a need for a different pot as well... the balanced pots I've seen are pretty expensive!
Have you tried anything balanced before? There's someone here who turned two Mini³s into a balanced amp. It seems like a great way to enter balanced, $100 in parts (~$50 per Mini³) + balanced pot + case.

SSMHs are approximately the same cost for parts, so I'll go with that instead. I've always wondered about tubes too, so it makes the most sense to do it.
Fwir, the balanced mini3 is kind of pointless when a single ended M3 supposedly sounds better for around the same price, maybe a bit more.
BTW, it was Rockhopper Audio that made them and I think still makes them if anyone reading this is interested.
