Default What converter (220 V -> 110 V, only) do you use with Stax A's amplifiers ?

Hello,

I have a pair of Stax SR-404 earspeakers and i'm looking now for a Stax amplifier (japaneese model = A), but i live in France.
So, do you know nice converters (220 V -> 100 V) ? They must be safe, secured and musn't have an (audible) incidence on the sound quality.
Is it a notable difference between the Japaneese (A) models with a good converter and the International (II) models ?

What do you use ?

Thanks a lot !

PS : I'm looking for the SRM-252A and SRM-323A.

Cheers,
Nikita

The only thing you face to are the pins from power cable of your Japs amp. Normaly, in EU, you have US to EU version, however you can ask some of yours local electr.shops, cos they do know better. Otherwise you may need an adapter, which can be purchased in any el.shop. Not sure, but maybe some converters are good for a global pins use.
Buy an converter which can take a lot of power. For example, I had an US tube amp, which required 180W, so I bought an converter with maximum 300W. But you can better buy one with maximum like 500-800W, so you be safe for sure.
