How i see what you mean with more presence with Canatate.... and with Grado i'am not in front of the scene but in the scene with musician
About mp3 you should ear more quality sound with a Amp like that, even flac that i see many here use don't give his potential until you decompress it to .wav, try with a real CD or DVD you'll have even more pleasure

Thanks. And I would like to try a Grado sometime .
But FLAC and WAV are both lossless, so nobody should be able to hear any difference between those two. Anyway, I can't hear a difference between FLAC and a 256kbps MP3 encoded with LAME 3.97b (I've tried).
I am still in the market for a nice CD player though .

That's a common mistake about flac, yes he's lossless but After you decompress it, then you have the .wav Same quality as CD (if taken from a CD)
If you play a flac just like that it's just kind of better .mp3 but still less quality then a CD

FLAC is lossless. It is decompressed in software to the original file before it reaches your ears. In terms of playback it is identical to the original .wav file.

Just do some search and you're right....
I've read that false idea somewhere long time ago (maybe it was for .shn or another...) and since that i was wrong
We always learn.
