Default A question about the Headroom Micro amp

I am considering buying the Headroom Micro, and I had a query about it.

If I wanted to connect the amp to my laptop, would I also have to buy the Micro DAC as well, or is the amp able to connect via USB or some other method?

Thanks in advance.

Does your laptop has any soundcard? You can connect the amp to your laptop but it wouldn't be through USB but through an 1/8'' mini-mini connector and if your laptop has a crappy integrated soundcard (like 90% of the laptops out there have) then you may not get to listen to the amp's full potential. Adding the Micro DAC would make a killer combo but if you need something cheaper, I'd reccomend an ECHO Indigo DJ or a Silverstone EB01 or an M-AUDIO Transit (I own one of these and it works very good). Any of the above DACs/soundcards will work very good with the Micro. You won't get the same sound quality as with the Micro DAC but at least it will bypass your laptop's crappy integrated sound and will provide you with a better signal.
