Default Pro-Ject Head Box

I tried to search for some reviews here, but didn't find much. So does anyone here have this amp or has at least heard it?

I not planning on buying anything. I am just curious as to how this amp sounds like. I heard a few Cmoy and Metas, they never impressed me, sorry.

Just a way to speak. If you weren't impressed by the cmoy or meta (which are not "impressive"), you'll be rolling on the floor laughing listening to the pro-ject. Or crying in disguts, it's up to you.

It's really a bad amp (the airhead is WAY better)

Actually Lini did a review of this that exactly matches my own conclusion (I didn't look inside though) :

Quote:
Duncan: Yes, I think it's truly that bad. I still wanted to give it another chance sometime with a higher impedant headphone, but so far I'm still too disappointed with the first tries.

The main fault is screwed sound. Causes might be the cheap parts (cheap 4580 opamps, cheap volume pots, cheap input selector switch, cheap capacitors and even cheap resistors). Only the case and the connectors make a half decent impression - this is a true case of "außen hui, innen pfui" (fancy outside, ******** inside). I'd expect the cheap Btech amp to be a far better buy at a far more realistic price. From my side, the Head-Box is don't-buy product.

Greetings from Munich!

Looks kinda like a SAC K1000 Amp cut in half.

Exactly...

00940: Did you try it with some higher impedant phone, btw? For me it had already failed so utterly with the K240S, that I couldn't bring myself to plug in another headphone since then...

I tried it on K401 and HD600.

It was pitiful on both.

A hifi dealer here in Berlin tried to sell me one of those for roughly over 300€. Just left the shop without a word. Maybe I should have told him what I was thinking.

Maybe - especially, as the thingy should list for 200 Euro...
