Default Pro-Ject Head Box?

Hi there,

Has anyone heard of this amp before or used one?
Would love to hear any reviews, I'd be matching it with a pair of HD580s and an Arcam CD72.

English manual and specs:
http://edi-zain.com/project/en/pdf/manualheadbox.pdf

The price I've been quoted is EUR269.. which seems a bit steep to me?

Its either that or an X-Can V2 which would cost me EUR240.. as I love the style of that..

I've only paid 199 Euro for mine over here. But I even regret spending this smaller sum...

Greetings from Munich!

Is it truly that bad?

Whats its main faults? - and are there any good points?

Duncan: Yes, I think it's truly that bad. I still wanted to give it another chance sometime with a higher impedant headphone, but so far I'm still too disappointed with the first tries.

The main fault is screwed sound. Causes might be the cheap parts (cheap 4580 opamps, cheap volume pots, cheap input selector switch, cheap capacitors and even cheap resistors). Only the case and the connectors make a half decent impression - this is a true case of "außen hui, innen pfui" (fancy outside, ******** inside). I'd expect the cheap Btech amp to be a far better buy at a far more realistic price. From my side, the Head-Box is don't-buy product.

Greetings from Munich!
