There seem to be various theories on the efficacy as well as the methods of using pink noise (continuous vs intermittent etc.). Asking for what’s best between continuous vs intermittent is sort of like asking, “What’s better vinyl or CD.” (Of course the answer to that is vinyl, but you’ll find a lot of folks who disagree violently with this opinion ) There was a nice thread on PN last year that contained a lot of the various opinions. The best I can tell you is to do a search for "Pink Noise."
I did a bit of research on this in the past, so I saw the various opinions expressed. Personally, I am no longer in a rush to burn in my gear, so I’m not using PN. But when I was I settled on 20 min on and a period of off. This site has free PN and other tracks (including digital silence). Michael Knowles: Extras
Just be careful and read the manual as the first few lowest tones (not really PN) can damage headphones (so don’t just download the CD and play it on continuous loop).
"When Ruthie says come see her in her honky-tonk lagoon, where I can watch her waltz for free 'neath her Panamanian moon. An' I say, "Aw come on now you must know about my dedutante." An' she says, "Your debutante just knows what you need but I know what you waaaant."
yes, you can run your amp constantly. You will probably never find a definitive answer around here about whether to use pink noise or whether to run it straight or intermittently. If you ask me it doesnt really matter in the end.
if you have a computer, you can use bigwavegenerator.
It's a free soft witch work great.
White noise for the amp and pink noise for the headphone (or white noise but with a little volume )
it's give you the possibility to have break period .

I ran a tube amp & headphones for three weeks, no problem. Just don't blast the hps with too much volume during the period. Put on some music, adjust the volume to your listening level, replace the music with your burn-in material and let it go. Just keep the amp somewhere where it can breath. Check in on the unit for the first few hours to make sure it doesn't get too hot. If it does, there may be something wrong with the amp. I'd want the thing to fail within the warranty period. IF you are still unsure of the safety of the burn-in, contact the amp maker for advice.
