Name Your Favorite Amp and Headphone Combination
A combination of headphone and amplifier that to the ears sounds the best in sound stage, dynamics, and all of that good food thought stuff
Mobile Use: Sennheiser HD280 Professional and C&C Box+
Home Use: Sennheiser HD650 with the Cardas Cable Upgrade and the Little Dot MKI. The AKG K701 with the ear ring foam modification and the C&C XO+.
Occasional Use: AKG K701 or JVC-Victor HP-AL1000(modified) and the Little Dot MKI+.
The interconnect used for connecting source to amp is from Moon Audio and is the Version-1 Blue Dragon, which uses 26AWG silver conductors while version-2 uses copper conductors. I prefer the sound of silver versus copper for some weird reason.
Hope that this thread lasts long.
Take care and have a great month of May

Sennheiser HD650 with Silver Dragon cable and RSA Raptor. The Raptor does a fantastic job driving the 650s; great synergy!

W5000 and Singlepower Extreme. The Extreme certainly brought out what all other amps I had couldn't with the W5000.

What other amps you tried with W5000? I'm still having hard time to decide which amp to get for my W5000. Tried LD IVSE and Millett Hybrid, the Millett do sound better but not great.

Just picked up the W5000 so waaay to early to say, but my first impression in the first 100 hours is the Luxman P1 may be a good to great match. But then again I haven't really heard this on any other amps.
Regarding the OP, one of the best combos I've heard is the Meier Corda Opera with the Beyerdynamic DT880. The AKG K501 is very nice on the Luxman P1 as well.

I've tried all the "current/past amp" under my sig with my W5000. None came close to the Extreme.

SinglePower ES-1 - > STAX O2 (Telefunkens)
HEV90 -> HE90 (from a Shanling T3000)
Blue Hawaii -> HE60
KGSS (steroided out) -> Koss950 (620v)
.
.
TTVJ 307a -> HD600 (balanced)
.
Blue Hawaii - Lambda Pro
.
Bijou (balanced) -> hd600 (balanced)
.
HA-2 (SE) -> hd600 / L3000
.
.
.
Else
Note: 1) I hate k1000 - dozens of listening experiences, with GREAT amps - they feel bolted to my head
2) I just do not like Grado - yes, RS1, RS1, HP2, and owned several underneath - it's genetic
3) Yes, I have heard the vaunted orthos - T-50, etc. - No traction.

RWA Signature 30.2 and AKG K1000
With the AMB β22 and AKG K1000 as a close second.
