Yes, you can. There is a linear regulated power supply inside the amp for when running on wall power. The amp will switch to the wall power when plugged in, allowing the battery to charge without the charge controller being falsely triggered by peak amplifier currents. The battery does not continuously charge, it tapers off and stops when the battery is full. The charging is indicated by an LED on the front panel.

from what justin said in the pre-order pico thread, the pico runs off AC power when plugged in and then off battery power when unplugged (the amp section, that is). i had originally thought that it would always run off the battery, even when plugged in (like the RWA sig30 amp), but justin's said otherwise. i've not used it yet while plugged in, so cannot say whether there is any discernible noise...off the battery, it's dead quiet, even with sensitive custom IEMs.
This was not about any noise, this thing is dead quiet, moreso than the Hornet even but I wanted to make sure that the amplification of the source signal was consistant weather using the DAC or the input due to that bass distortion in those few tracks I had mentioned in my original post. I think it's safe to say now that the issue is with the source recording... or the dac being too transparent
