Something in the ballpark of $200 home headphone will do nicely ... say HD600 is a fine example.

The stock opamps that come with the P2 are great. As you said, the bass is very well done and the amp has that organic presentation to the music, which makes for a very enjoyable experience. I agree, a great bang for the buck.

If im going to be honest, i think i prefer my P2 to my my Slee solo with the HD650, the P2 isnt as transparent or as open and the sound stage is smaller than the Solo, but the P2 does sound more organic, more rounded, more natural and sometimes it seems more dynamic too.
What ive learnt this week is you can spend a lot more money, in the hope that things that cost more should trounce the SQ of cheaper equipment, when in reality sometimes its the opposite that's true!

I've listened more to the ES-recabled Superfi and P2. There is a sense of space that is awesome. Soundstage is the largest I've ever percieved with a IEM.

Try the P2 with the LTC6241HV in LR and OPA2134 in IC-2. Very impressive combination!

I haven't had any difficulty driving anything I own but I don't have anything real hard to drive although the HD650's sound better with good power and they sound good with the P2. For a little amp, the P2 has a nice strong output.
