Default leave it on? or turn it off?

i've had my Gilmore Lite for a while, and recently i've been getting more and more into the habit of leaving it on for extended periods of time.

after around 30 minutes though, the things gets hot. putting my hand on top of the case, the heat is bad enough that it makes me a bit uncomfortable and concerned for the amp. should i be turning it off when it isn't in use? i don't want to damage anything..

I believe the Gilmore Lite is class A, which means that the transistors are turned on all the time and the temperature is constant, even if there is no signal going through it. It is OK that it gets warm and I leave mine on all the time. I just don't touch it. With class AB amps, the transistors are driven harder only when the volume is turned up, so the temperature varies.

Mine gets warm, but never HOT. I use it for no more than 6 hours at a time. I usually just turn it off when i'm not using it. Ive never tried leaving it on 24hours though.

IMHO, it's best to contact Justin and asked about it.

My Lite never gets really hot, just slightly warm. Contact Justin and ask him, he will know best.

Turning my amp off is a must. I use a dynahi, it it gets fairly warm (not as warm as people make it out to be , but warm enough). If i'm not listening to music its off at all times.

Actually I did contact Justin when I got mine, and he told me that leaving it on is no problem. I use mine at work, and often leave it on for the whole week, and then usually turn it off on the weekend.

He told me it takes about 30 minutes to fully warm up.

Mine does get warm, but never hot enough that I feel it could cause any damage.

I leave my Graham Slee Solo amp and Benchmark DAC-1 on 24/7 and they are just barely warm. If something doesn't have a stand-by button it's designed to be always left on.
All my gear sound bright if they haven't been warmed up for many hours. If you don't have a problem with brightness then you can turn it off to be on the safe side.
