David said that the SE runs out when the tubes are gone.
I´ve ordered mine some time ago without tubes (i still had some).
Then he received new ones and produces more SEs.
Last time he said that the golden Tube protectors are bad quality to
the delivery was delayed. --> ask him what parts are missing for MK IV or SE

Question:I've tried hooking the MKIII up to my stereo as a preamp. No sound. What am I doing wrong ?

I'm going from my amps input to the MKIII's output and the cd players output to the MKIII's input.Any ideas ?

Maybe I did'nt get enough sleep but I dont know what i'm doing wrong.I just wanted to see how this sounds with my home stereo. It still amazes me as a headphone amp 4 months later as a happy owner with the stock tubes.

Turn the MKIII's volume knob up.

The MkIII has an active pre-amp so you'll want to turn the volume up on the MkIII. Also check out the EF91 family of tubes, they are amazing pre-amp tubes.

That's the information I've been looking for! Who'da thought it would be the last post in a 2 year old thread.

My MKIII has about 16 hours burn in now. It's sounding pretty good. It has definitely opened up and gained some top end clarity. The SA5000 sounds a bit sibilant though. The Grado HF-1s are sound fun, exciting and upfront.

I've got the amp also hooked up to my Stax amp from the pre-amp out. I'm getting some extra smoothness to my electrostatics now. I'm not sure it's 100% necessary but it's a good configuration for now.

After reading all the Little Dot threads I'm getting a new power cord and some new driver tubes.

Looks like I'll be looking for some EF91 tubes too.
