I put the iQube at the top of my personal portable headamp list. Its size, extreme battery life, and great quality puts it solidly in a must-have list if its price in the US wasn't prohibative.

Wow Dex, what a great review! Sets the new standard for amp reviews.
Bear with me for a bit, I own an iQube, Lisa, PRII and recently returned my Pico. I've been waiting to write some comparative impressions and this seems like the right thread to add my thoughts. Need a few more days...

Awesome review, well written with the right amount of humor. I like humor even though I fail horribly most times.
Would love to see bottom pics, all I see batteries, caps and switches/plugs, how do they make it sound soooo nice?

Thanks, mf!
Here's the only shot of the underside that I've seen so far. Just bear in mind that it is of a pre-production prototype, so the little yellow wire we see here on the left is no longer present as such in the final production version of the iQube.
Update 3/19/08
And here are some photos of the proper production version:

Great amp. The only downside I noticed is the hiss with sensitive IEMs.
Another thing is the rattling of the upper rubber surface, it starts clicking when I put pressure on it.

Which IEMs have you tried, and how much hiss does it have? I plan on getting the UE11 at the end of my journey.

I've tried it with SF 5 Pros and for my taste it's a bit to much hiss to fully enjoy it. I can even hear it in louder parts of a track, but the SF 5 Pros are oversensitive IEMs so this is no surprise. With other IEMs the hiss should be quieter.
I read that the Pico has a nice synergy with the UE11, maybe this is the better way to go.

I didn't notice any hiss on the UE11 with the iMod. What player are you using?
It was definitely a step above the PICO's amp.

I am using a ZVM, but I notice the hiss with every source I plug in. I will get my iMod in about 4 weeks, so it will take me ages to test this.

Too late guys! I just purchased one!
Review will come soon.
In the meanwhile I'm enjoying my iMod, which is incredible.

Maybe the line out will make a difference if you are not already using it that way. The Super.fi 5 pro are more sensitive to hiss then anything I've had up the UE line (Triple.fi, UE11), so it would likely be more obvious for them. I cannot find any other iQube users with a hiss problem, including skylab. Seems odd.

I use the line out of my ZVM.
I've sent Hans @Qables an e-mail a long time ago, according to this problem.
He said that they have tested the iQube and it should not hiss, not even with the SF 5 Pros.
All of this makes me wondering if everything is ok with my iQube.
