I tend to agree. These should come with some kind of an AC adapter for the price. You can purchase an after market one. The tolerance range seems to be wide so shouldn't be too difficult to find one. For me, the USB cable isn't very useful and I didn't purchase. I'm not charging these from my laptop.
Any ideas where to get one ?, I agree, I would rather have an AC charger than USB. Maybe radio shack? Not looking forward to opening it

There are AC to USB adapters which allow this cable to be used as a wall wart if you wanted to check them out. I have one myself and I saw somewhere else, I think it was Dex, that posted a picture of the AC wall to USB connector. With the cable that is being sold you have a wall connection as well as a computer connection for recharging the iQube. Below is the one shown in post 191 of this thread. I think this one is for the EU while mine is for the USA and is like the second one shown. I Googled this and found this one for 9.95$. You can find these on the Apple shop web site if you want.
Since the iPhone comes with a USB AC adapter I'll have to look at the specs and see if that can be used Thanks guys!

I wish the iQube had a mini usb charge port so a standard cable USB to mini-usb cable may be used. Also, USB AC adapters are so common nowdays so one would just purchase that and use the same standard cable to charge via AC power.

you could use your airport express - that charges all my electronics. or an ipod usb charger - but i like to have my router do the charging as i don't have a printer

Hi Hans,
My compliments to the chefs. You have a wonderful portable amplifier here! I'm very pleased! Ok, getting the battery cover off wasn't too much fun, but other then that it is outstanding! Wonderful detail and excellent workmanship!

After much practice and following Dex's excellent instructions, I have come to the conclusion that I would rather take the battery cover off my iQube than hunt for my screwdriver to remove the batteries from my other amps!
