Default How to burn in amplifier?

I just get the hornet and hearing many people talking about to burn in this little amp about 300+ hours to get the best performance. So I would like to ask some questions about how to burn in an amplifier?

1. Do I have to connect headphone or speaker with amp during burn in or just turn it on solely?
2. Do I have to turn the volume loudly so amp will active at high amplitude and resulting in more effective burn in?

Anybody please give me some advices, thank you.

conecting a headphone and letting it run at mid volumes runs current through the amp. open circuit hardly does. do connect the headphones. You do not need to crank the volume up so high, though. Let it run in the middle of the range.
also, burn the cable you're going to use together with the amp so you save time (duh, you says)

Don't worry about burn in, just plug it in and enjoy it.

yeah, that's what i would do. your listening experience grows alongside with the burn in of your amp. then by the time its actually burned it, you get to tell the difference. that to me is a joy.

I've never had to burn in an amp (an advantage of buying used used, heh ), but for the components I have burned in (cans and cables, mostly), I used a combination of the above advice. I usually listen to whatever I've just purchased straight out of the package for a couple hours (one to ten, depending how interesting it sounds), and then hook it up to my burning rig and let it run for a hundred hours. It's interesting to compare how something sounds at hour 0 vs. hour 100.

One component I find instrumental in burning in anything is a standalone FM tuner. They make an excellent source for white noise if you turn them to an empty station, and they can be had for pocket change in a used electronics shop or flea market. I have two, plus an old DJ mixer, allowing me to burn in two pairs of ICs, one set of cans and if need be, headphone cables as well.

I've spent a LOT of time with HR components (as you all well know) and never heard anything to suggest that they 'burned in' in any way. But, if you do believe, it should be on, with headphones plugged in, and at least some signal present to push current through all of the caps and resistors (which are the components that are supposed to burn in).

There is no standard in how long it takes, mainly because no-one really has any idea what exactly is supposed to actually be taking place so how can they know when it's finished? Basically, burn-in until you don't hear any changes in the sound, and don't try to worry about what is really happening to it.

No-one has a clue. At which point, someone usually brings up a ludicrous version of quantum theory, and reason goes down the toilet...

I thought as such... some one offered to me in the past that it is more like break-in vs. burn in on solid state items. I don't know but certainly there is the psychological aspects.
