Headamp communication issues?
Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd check to see if anyone is sharing my current experience with Headamp.....
I placed an order a week ago for an AE-2 (paid with Paypal), and haven't heard a peep from them (not even acknowledging my order). I'm certain they are quite busy with their new micro amp, but I feel they should have at least said "thanks for the order......."
I have followed up with an e-mail (six days, no reply) and a phone call (I left a message) this morning.
Anywhoo, is this an unusual experience, or should I begin getting concerned? After all, my checking account is $360 lighter and it has been a week.
Any comments?
Warmly,
Michael

Justin is just slammed with pico orders. He is a trusted MOT and will get you your amp, it just may take a few weeks.

x2. That said, you've paid your hard-earned money. You deserve at least an acknowledgment that your order was placed through proper channels.
I'd follow up with an email and phone call. Be nice and patient: "Just checking to see... Hadn't heard back, wanted to make sure..."
Justin should get back to you. I followed the same protocol on my two Headamp orders, and I got answers after a few pings. Chances are, you'll get a response to this thread.
FYI... my separate Pico and GLite orders arrived later than estimated by a month and a week, respectively.

It can take up to a week sometimes for him to respond to e-mails, Justin is a standup guy though, no reason to worry ~ it's the waiting that's the hardest part

Good to hear
Thanks for the helpful comments. I figured that he was booked solid, and am heartened to hear that he sometimes takes a little time to respond. I'll follow up again (and I'm always polite) and think that one possible piece of feedback is for his Paypal to send a confirmation e-mail that the payment has been received, and the order is in the qeue.
Thanks again, and I look forward to FINALLY having some proper amplification for my K701's

I hope this is true. I emailed him march 31. about the KGSS I have on order and I haven't heard anything. Well, I quess it is just the waiting time (I ordered the KGSS before Christmas) that makes it hard not to hear anything from Justin.

I have ordered one, and payed half of it, so I need Justin to reply my email. And I'm sure he will. Others having the same problem right now, shows me that Justin is just really busy at the moment.

I've also been experiencing communication problems with Headamp. I remember
when I ordered the Gilmore Lite last year Justin replied all my emails within 48 hours.
However, I ordered the power supply for the Gilmore Lite on March 3 and did not get a confirmation email. I emailed him a week after that and no reply.
Then I sent another email on March 24 (3 weeks after order)... no reply.
Called on March 26. Justin said he should be able to get it out in about a week.
I sent another email on April 4 (5 weeks after order)... no reply.
Called and left a message with my cell number, email address, and HeadFi user name on April 7... no reply yet.
I understand that he's really busy with the Pico so I guess I'll have to wait like everyone else. I'm just really anxious to try out the Gilmore Lite with the power supply.

Headamp is a one man operation. Justin is most likely overwhelmed with orders right now. Sometimes business of this size with a surge of interest either have to expand or implode. You worry about after sales service now, among other things.

Yeah... I've been waiting for my Pico since early January and I'm being nice n' patient
If you look at this link:
HeadAmp - Audio Electronics
... you can see just how many Picos are on order. And then there's everything else on his site that he needs to take care of. He's probably inundated with emails like "WHERE'S MY PICO". I, however, have managed to stop myself from such tactics. I don't know how. I'm typically the most unpatient person I know when it comes to this stuff. Maybe it's been so long I've learned to forget it. Haha.
Anyway, from what I hear Justin is a top-notch guy so there's nothing to worry about. You just have to be patient. Think of it this way- it could be much worse. It could be Dr. Xin!

All true. There is a point though, when you have to stop making allowances.

You'll probably have to give it a month or two for some form of communication. Allow 3-6 months for the amp itself. I am all for being forgiving for MOT's (and other trusted, reputable sellers) but there is a limit IMO.

Yes. There are reasonable limits.
I tend to be a very patient person, who is very accomodating of others' needs. However, I have learned much about boundaries in the past few years, and feel that simple acknowledgement is a key step in the communication chain.
I'll try on my end.
Until I hear from Justin, though, I have the good fortune to have a Red Wine Audio Signatur 30 (with the 30.2 mods) and a pair of second-hand Omega MaxHemps on their way to replace my stand-in system (SLA-powered tripath feeding Omega Compact Hemptones).
I THINK I can keep myself happily occupied until I hear that my money is in the right hands...............
Warm regards,
Michael
