yeah..i guess. didn't think about it thanks. i know that a lot of audiophiles won't turn off their equipment in order for it to stay warm all the time, and also there is the assumption that turn off and on all the time is not good for the gear. but i rather take my chances on the last one and not let my gear burn from heat, also to reduce power consuming (and electrical bill also).
except..the gear takes only half an hour or hour the most to get warm enough and to its full potential,at least with ss amps. don't know about tube amps though...

Well, thaaaat, I guess... plus I remember reading somewhere (I think?) that David actually recommended keeping the Keces gear on all the time. It's all ss, which I've read may actually last longer with constant power than repeatedly turning it on/off/on/off/on/etc.

That's true with some gear. My pimeta for example hardly gets warm and draws very little idle current, so I didn't even implement a power switch.
more reading
I can't imagine that the keces died because of the heat though.... Almost all components are rated for a minimum of 85'c, and even at their maximum temperature ratings, they will only drift or have a shortened lifespan. Probably a premature failure unrelated to heat.

I recall that too but I think it was the Keces DA-151/DA-131 he spoke about...

Wow! I just got an email reply from David asking me to ship the unit to them. He said that they will fix it or replace it, and ship it back to me, at no cost to myself. And I'm not even the original owner, a fact of which he is well aware.
Pretty good customer service, if you ask me!

On a side note, what ever happened with your SP amp? I see that it's now in your "past amps" category...

Bummer, man. Sorry 'bout that.
Are you gonna try to get it worked on?

I've moved on from SP and gotten myself an Audio Gd Phoenix. I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival.

I found David to be a standup kind of guy. Always helpful and very fast to respond to all requests. Glad to hear he is going to take care of it. Especially since shipping is a big part of the cost of buying the Keces products.

LAXX... Damn you are SLXX
As for amps it´s said they would sound better if you leave them on and it would be an infinite improvement... I don´t know if I believe that much but well let it warm up sure.
