Compatible opamps for fubar III DAC/AMP
Hello there,
I understand that this has been posted or discussed many times before. However, I want to know what kind of opamps, that can be used the desk bound amp.
Problem with getting this information is that googling or searching this forum, I've got information from disparate sources and possibly might be opamp rolling for different kinds of headphone amplifiers. Some of these source suggests additional DIY or soldering to be adapted for use with a particular headphone amp.
The problem is that different amplifiers have different voltage requirements, and so certain opamps may not be suitable for this DAC/AMP that I'm using, 24 volts. I know very little of opamps, and posted here are some dual opamps, single opamps, adaptation of opamps to fit the DIP socket. I want to buy something that is ready to use, less the hassle of soldering or DIY. Ideally just plugged it into the DIP socket. If not, I worry that from random buying and replacing of the opamp, as I have no experience with electronics or whatsoever, might either kill the amp or even fry the opamp, which leads me to post here.
I want to give my amp a more bassy sound, the current one is too clear and flat for my liking. Lacks the thump, the uumph if you know what I mean.
I do not mind suggestions of other kinds of headphone amplifier that sounds better than the fubar III as long as it's a bassy kind of sound signature without compromising too much of clarity, and hopefully the price is within 100 to 200 bucks range from the fubar III. The fubar III is my first deskbound headphone amp.
Thanks.
