Best amp or, forgive me if I dare twist the ops intent to my own needs, the best audio chain I ever heard, is the one I am seeking and it has not been found yet and eludes me. Many a wise man has stated that perhaps it is not the destination that brings us treasures beyond our wildest dreams but it is the journey that rewards us. It is the people who share there opinions with us along the way that brings rewards. The dividends are being paid daily with every tear that leaks from my soul and every cleansing of that very soul from the art form of expression that is music and music is each soul sharing their very core of existence with each one of us for eternity.
Whoa...where the hell did that come from...
...sorry...I have a lot of pent up energy from waiting for a Headamp GS-1...the waiting has been, well, at times...difficult to deal with...
...um...you were asking?....

So, the best amp only exist in our altered state consciousness?
It makes more sense to buy marijuana than expensive gears then?

I don't know 'bout that...an amp is a one-time purchase, where as drug payments are like the Energizer bunny....

Sometimes, it's an illusion.

I say wait until you're really really tired and listen to the gear. with the sleep deprivation even hd595s sound superb like a HD650.
Sony SA5000s also end up sounding like HD650s too lol. Luscious.

In all seriousness, this speaks to something I've thought for a while. People seem to go through a lot of obvious nonsense (fancy power cables, isolation on solid state gear, etc) in order to squeeze every last drop of perceived improvement out of gear when something like a good glass of wine would certainly enhance the listening experience even more.
A good beer or two (and I stress *good* beer rather than Corona) goes a long way.

Yes. Of course they could have the best equipment and wire and still have that glass of wine...
And by the way, you didn't have to add the word "good" to differentiate beer from Corona.
