Default Amp suggestions and ideas

Hello guys, i have a pair of Sennheiser 555's and was wondering if an Amp would make a noticeable difference in quality. Although i would not like to spend over 100 dollars so the less expensive the better. Also i was thinking of upgrading to a pair of Sennheiser 595's a friend i know will already buy my 555s and for not much more i can get the 595's or possibally a diffrent brand, or series all together. I like to play videogames such as counter-strike and world of warcraft, and i enjoy listening to just about every genre of music, just in case that changes anything. Thanks for your time guys.

I think you can give either a CMOY or Boostaroo a try. Both should be within your budget and they can be found on ebay.

Buy a better set of headphones. That will positively affect the sound quality. Most amps under $100 are mostly like external volume controls.

Boosteroo wont drive those right. Its more of a distribution box than a headphone amp really.
Look for a used C&C Box+, or Headsix, or really anything in my profile.
Ive never paid over $160 for any portable amp yet.
Should really use a home amp for those, maybe a used Little Dot or something.

How about one of the Little Dot amps? The MkII and MkIII are quite popular around here and it will definitely drive your headphones better than whatever soundcard you're using now.

X2. Considering where your at, putting your money in to better headphones will get you more SQ for your buck or Euro.

I have the hd555's and the Little Dot MkIII, If your looking for some amazing sound with this combination, then you will be thoroughly dissatisfied, not because the products are bad, but just because the hd555's do not need an amp. The most significant aspect the Little Dot MkIII does for the hd555 is basically double it's max volume with little or any distortion. If you want something worthwhile your going to have to spend more than 100 dollars and if you do, I suggest a hd580 and a Little Dot MkIII or your best bet, which you already suggested yourself, get a hd595 and sell the hd555 to your friend.
