amp suggestion for grado 325i & 60g ipod

Hi I'm a newbee here and after having my first child a few years ago I had to switch to cans.
I've just purchased a pair of Grado 325i (upgraded from sr80's) and these have now started to show the short comings of my ipods output.
I have tried my ipod through an old cambridge amp and it seemed to tighten up the sound, sadly this doesn't make my system very portable

I encode to lossless only and like to run the ipod with eq off, call me old fashioned but I love to hear music as intended.

My budget is small so first thoughts where on the microdot+ but I wondered if anyone else had any experience with a grado/ipod setup?

I have also looked at the C&C box and minibox-E

I travel a bit so a hotel friendly set up is in order, I can budget about £100 or $180 ish.

Any idea's?
