I recently bought a brand new laptop. I am pretty sure I want to have most of my accessories and peripherals to be wireless for better portability and less mess. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the Logitech G7 wireless mouse, but I am stuck on what headphones I should get for my laptop.
I know the Sennheiser RS 140s are some of the best wireless headphones out there, but aren't they maybe a bit overkill for a laptop? Not to mention they seem a little big. I want something that I'll be able to put in my laptop bag with relative ease.
I'll primarily but using the headphones to listen to mp3 quality music and computer games. No audio mixing or anything like that. Any suggestions? I don't have a budget right now, I'm willing to spend a pretty penny if it fits what I want.
That is unless you guys can persuade me to not buy wireless for whatever reason. Do you think earbuds would be a better alternative for portable headphones?
Can't help you on the headphones, but a word of caution on that G7: the battery life on that thing is about 8 hours. Even though it's wireless it's not intended for portable use at all, as you need a "base station", which is wired abnd rather large, to charge the spare battery. I would advise you get the VX Revolution or VX Nano if you are looking for a top-notch notebook mouse.
Bluetooth mouse if your laptop has bluetooth. Still need to buy batteries, although seems like I was seeing a set of bluetooth mice which would charge from the USB port on the laptop. I go with the Nano otherwise.
Not much experience with wireless headphones, as the SQ is pretty dismal in commercial headphones.
You will find some nice wired headphones for computer use from $15 - $1000+. I love my IEMS, and Senns, my teenage sons love their AT closed A700s.
Does anyone here have a good story to tell about wireless headphones for an audiophile setting? I know there are bluetooth headphones now, but don't recall seeing reviews here, and no, I have not searched. I tire of batteries running out enough, and I have great headphones.

Yeah, I actually have a pair of AT A500s I got a few years ago. Problem with just using that is, I can't exactly just put them in my messenger bag and go. They would break pretty easily if I did that I think. The more I look into it, the more it sounds like maybe just getting earbuds or something might be the way to go for portable headphones.
My laptop does have a bluetooth card, so that is an option. I guess I'll do a bit more research on what makes bluetooth better, as I don't really see the advantage it gives over regular wireless.
I was thinking the G7 for a mouse just because it has that easy battery switcher thing. I could just switch them right before work, and right when i get home from work and it should be all good - right?
Headphones or mice that charge off a laptop's USB port would be pretty awesome though.
I have the G7 at home, but I couldn't imagine taking it with me. I use the VX nano for my lappie, it's great. The USB receiver is almost invisible in the port, so you can just leave it there and not have to worry about it getting ripped out when you put your laptop in your bag. The mouse itself is small, but it fits in your hand really nicely.
As for the headphones, why not just get a set of IEM's, maybe Super.fi 5's? Small enough to wrap up and tuck in your bag and they sound great. Wireless headphones would mean just another usb dongle you'd have to keep track of, as well as the headphones themselves.
