Default "Surround2Stereo" Vst Plugin

Christian’s Blog » VST Plugins
"5.1->Stereo using binaural HRTF convolution."

Quite naturally, this gave me hope that life would no longer suck and I could listen to surround sound formats over headphones and receive a binaural presentation.

I tried loading it in to Foobar, it ended up crashing however...

Next I tried winamp, and played a AC3 file. Still reg stereo...

There doesn't seem to be any documentation on this VST plugin so I am at a loss of what to do...

Anyone have some ideas?

*EDIT*

Tried a multichannel .wav file.

Gives a odd result...
Dunno if it is the wav or what...

I also tried the "HRTF-VST Surround-Plugin" plugin, also gives a odd result.

It is very interesting however, I suggest anyone in to surround-over-cans try it out.

*EDIT* 2

Using the "HRTF-VST Surround-Plugin" for winamp, you are able to pivot stereo sounds around your head! It's not perfect, and mods the sound some what, but the sound sounds like it is outside your head, and can be repositioned too. Quite a neat effect.
