Surround dac? - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio

I might just be asking a dumb ? here but whatever.

I am using onboard sound from my MSi 650 Sli mobo. I send optical to my dac on a Pioneer XR-57 for stereo and that sounds pretty good.

Anologue out is 6 channel surround from three 1/8th to rca into my XR-57. Is there something that can clean that signal up?

All I could think of is a dac with 3 rca inputs and outputs which well.....that's the ?

You can always get a soundcard which can output AC3/DTS like

This way you keep everything digital.

yeah. I guess I will have to wait on the Prelude and see if creative actually get's something right for a change lol. Really though, I need to get surround out of games via optical.

Some while back I played with ac3filter and that could output real time ac3 encoded data to a S/PDIF port.

Have you tried that for your games?

I will try that. Anyone know that the Preludes Drivers are being written by Creative? lol so much for a good product. sigh.
