Default Sound card problem - please help!!!

I installed my new M-audio 2496 sound card yesterday set it up and all was dandy.

For some reason I was fiddling and I accidently changed the card from enabled to disabled while playing music. Like the window below:

Then when I tried to enable it again (and after a prompted restart) There was no sound. When I change back to my standard sound card then there is sound. All volume controls are up and everything selected correctly but I can't alter this window's sound volume when I could before:

but the card is showing that it is playing music. All the peak meters, oscilliscopes etc are showing it working in foobar, WMP etc and so is the cards software e.g:

Is it possible I fried the card when I disabled it?

thanks very much

Not likely. If the mixer's playing, it still may be a software issue. Am not familiar with the M-Audio drivers, but you basically got to ensure there's a signal path to your hardware.

Check wiring of equipment! Physical connections, etc.

Might want to check foobar and winamps outputs also. I know if I switch my output from speaker to SPDIF on my card, I have to switch it in the output tab of the player also. You could also check to make sure you have the correct output set on the card as well, I can switch my default output from speakers to SPDIF in my task bar as well. Just a few options

Cheers guys,

I have installed it in a different PCI slot now and fortunately it is working!

Still have no idea what happened because all settings now are as they were then. Doesn't bother me though at least its working now
