Default software to strip audio tracks in real time?

i am intersested in listening to different tracks in movies in real time for background and intricate detail. is there software that does this? sometimes it would be to eliminated the dialog, sometimes to eliminate music, it seems like you could filter out things you didnt want to hear to focus on what is important to you.

Try DVD Audio extractor, which offers a 30-day free trial. Not sure you can edit out sounds with it, though. Google it and see. I used it to extract some dialogue from Pulp Fiction.

Since the audio on the DVD isn't stored in separate tracks for vocals and various instruments, it would have to be pretty magical software to isolate them properly. I doubt you will be able to do much better than changing the relative volume of the center channel.

I have never heard of a program which can do this real time. A program which can do this is ProTools. If you want to take out certain sounds which have been recorded on 1 channel without harming the rest of the audio content it will take a lot of time.

Depending on the film it could have more than one audio channel. I haven't heard of a mainstream film which uses this possibility and I doubt it will ever be used. ( in a mainstream film)

I have not tried the Sony Sound Forge 9 yet but, it seem to have some 'new' multichannel audio features ...
