Re-installed Windows, now my Chaintech doesn't work!!
AAARRRGGHH!!
I just did a fresh install of windows, and now whenever I try to use foobar w/ kernel streaming I get an "error opening device" message!
I'm SURE I have everything right;
Resampled to 96000, 24 bit padded to 32, and high sample rate selected in the audio deck.
I tried it with both 1.43d drivers and the 3.10 drivers aswell. Funny thing is when I used the 3.10s if I had it in 2 channel regular, it worked fine with kernel streaming. Sound was coming out of channel 7&8 just fine. But when I switched it to 2 channel high sample rate it immediately started returning the error again. Doing the same in 1.43 drivers doesn't have the same effect.
Any suggestions from my fellow AV-710 owners?

Remove the drivers, remove the card and try to reinstall it again.....from scratch.

Are you using Asio at all?
If so I can send you the ASIO files (dll or the EXEX version)
I had the same problem when I re-installed Windows yesterday.
I finally got it running.
PM me your email and I will send you the files.
Also I would recommend following the exact instructions from the foobar setup thread.
get KS working and in the meanwhile I will send you the ASIO4all files + the DLL/exe plugin for foobar.
that should fix it up,
Of course remove both the versions of drivers using some sort of driver cleaning program
I can't remember any from the top of my head.
Mayeb someone else can suggest one?
Well, I uninstalled the card, removed it, restarted, then shut down again and re-installed it. That didn't seem to do it. I googled the asio foobar dll and got that. It worked at first, but there was a very bad click noise every time a track began.
argh. I liked kernel streaming. It was simple and it worked really well, no additional setup programs or anything.
Thanks for your help so far tho. Perhaps I should uninstall the card and get a driver cleaning app.

the clicking usually happens when the buffer size or the KS buffers are set to a value to high.
I find 1024/2 to be perfect
any higher and i get that funny clicking noise you talk about.
Anyway I have sent the email to you so go get the dll for foobar
BUT I have a small problem. When I try to configure ASIO, the only options available for a device are Creative ASIO, SB Audigy ASIO 24/96, and SB Audigy ASIO. No mention of the Envy24 at all!
By the way there are 4 subfolders with different ASIO DLLs in them. It causes an error when I start up foobar. I tried using each one individually and didn't get any different results with detecting the Envy24. I tried both the exe and dll versions. With the exe version is there a program you run yourself to configure it?

In the exe zip version of asio for foobar,
Under the bin folder there are 4 folders.
Just use the one titled normal and make sure you copy both the files in the components directory of foobar
As for configuring ASIO, the Wuschel'sAsio4all installation causess a file called asio4all to be installed in the Program Files/ Wuschel's ASIO4All directory.
Copy that to the System and System32 folder in the Windows directory.
Then restart foobar
as for the settings
just control them with the Wsuchel's Asio4all interface.
I hope that should help you out.
As for the audigy soundcard problem, try disabling the Creative cards and see if that works
There are so many IRQ's on the motherboard and if all are in use then Windows gives preference to certain devices.
I am not sure how successful running the 2 cards
would be in the same PC.
Some guys here have managed to get the 2 working together.
You should check out those threads.
Just do a search for chaintech or audigy in the computer as a source forum.
You should find them.
Got it working with Wuschel's ASIO4ALL. Thanks for your help!
