Headphoneus Supremus: Videographus Supremus: Makes audio cables using super-advanced materials, like "some clear tape" and "some not so clear tape."
It's an upgrade a few fold. One because it's just better and two because you get to use optical output which isolates the computer from what it's hooked up with e.g DAC.

Yeah, optical would be good.
What exactly does "it's just better" mean, though?
They should also be much better than my DMX 6fire too, right?
Well, I haven't heard the 6fire, but most compare it to be about the same level as the revo. The audiophile is at least as good as the revo so based on that theory, YES!!! The E-MU is better.

I used to own 6-fire,EMU is much more detailed transparent and smooth. Not as warm though, but it should change with burn-in according to what I've been told.

Don't expect it to be overly warm, though. Even my heavily modded EMU is still on the analytical side of transparent IMO, which is how the stock one is positioned. Only the bypass modded one owned by Sduibek is more on the warm/musical side, but even then only by comparison to the other EMUs. The RME (in any form) is much warmer sounding, but IMO not better.

LOL, it's all about perspective and prior experience isn't it... To me the E-MU is pretty warm, but that's in comparision to the M-Audio Audiophile which is anything but warm...

I disagree in regards to the Revo. I didn't do any a/b'ing, but after i listened to my 1212M I was very impressed and it sounded much more detailed than the Revo.
