All I can say is...wow. This is a serious upgrade over my old Audigy2 ZS! The difference was apparent within seconds.
Do any 1212m veterans have any advice as far as system or foobar2000 settings go? Should I disable the resampling to 48K that I was doing for the Audigy, for example? The Audigy2 ZS has been removed from the system for now.
Nice choice on soundcard, first thing i'd get though, not sure on your budget or how soon you plan to get that ppx3, but i'd seriously consider getting an adapter so you can plug those 650s into your soundcard directly, the klipsch 4.1 headphone jack is awful.

Download the ASIO plugin for Foobar. Then manually type in 192000 for your sampling rate, set your bit depth to 24 padded to 32 and change your output to ASIO. Once you've selected ASIO for your output click the go to settings button and select E-MU ASIO as your output device. Start a new session in patch mix for 192kHz +4 minimum. Then insert a send in the stereo ASIO Strip.

Took the words right out of my mouth, other than make sure that the send you put in is to the I/O card, if you hadn't already figured that out.

OK I got ASIO working, but if I resample to 192K I can't hear any other sounds (sometimes I like to listen to game audio along with the music, for example). Without resampling, everything is fine.

So how big a win is resampling to 192k?
Well that's up to you and your ears now isn't it? It's pretty easy to switch back and forth if you save your sessions.

I'll check it out, was just hoping to save some time in case one was clearly known to be better than the other.
By the way, I'm having problems switching back to non-ASIO output from foobar now. If I switch to a different type of output and hit play, nothing happens (it doesn't even start playing the song). I've tried restarting my computer and foobar, no luck. Oh well, so far I'm not taking much of a performance hit with ASIO, so not too concerned just yet.

Yes, sorry I should have mentioned that I was changing sessions also. I have two sessions saved (the original one and the one you suggested that I create). Even if I switch back to the original one (which I saved before creating the new one), and then switch foobar to use, for example, wave out, I can't hear foobar's output (yet I can hear output from Windows or other applications just fine).
One interesting note, the original session does support ASIO output, but only at 44K. That's how I've been able to listen to both foobar and sound from standard windows apps at the same time.
And, strangely, when trying to use foobar with wave out now, after selecting a FLAC file in foobar and hitting the play button, it doesn't begin to play (the progress indicator doesn't move). I checked the console output and didn't see any warnings or errors there. Anyway, I'm still playing around with it...I'm probably just missing something obvious.
