In need of a sound card recommendation badly
I need some help. The buyer at the store I work at has asked me to find some new PCI sound cards. I've been looking at the reviews here online, and I haven't been able to find anything that fits these criteria:
1. Can't be manufactured by Creative labs (our store is done with creative).
2. Can't be more than 30 USD.
3. Something at least remotely familiar, brand-wise (if possible).
4. Something that isn't crappy (again, if possible).
I'm at a loss, so I could really use some help. I'm the only one that the buyer asked. I need at least two recommendations (if there are two). Thanks.
Nylan

Pretty tough to come up with a sound card for 30 or less bones.

Your mission is impossible.
A decent soundcart will cost at least 100 USD.

I noticed that Siig brand and Turtle Beach (which had a model for around $30).
What's the consensus surrounding turtle beach as a brand?
Thanks for the info already, guys. This is saving my butt from a chewing.

Back in the day Turtle Beach was pretty popular.
That is where most people turned when they got tired of the Creative driver run around.
I have owned a few of them...But back then sound quality was not real high on my list for computer builds.
They are a known name and their cards sounded good back then.
Probably as good as you are going to get in that price range for sure.

That's what I figured. As long as these cards are better than onboard, then I feel comfortable recommending them to customers.
If they want something better, I'll let them know what's good on the net...
Hey, if my buyers won't buy it so I can sell it, I tell the customer where they can find it.
