Default Low-fi surround decoder for 5.1 computer speakers?

Does anyone know any cheap solution to have a decoder that would take at least optical in (computer and PS3) and have 5.1 outputs for computer speakers (using 3 x 3.5mm jacks)?

I am looking something for the kids, thus I want to keep it cheap and the sound quality is secondary.

I don't think that device has an optical or SPDIF IN, it only outputs in digital, and has just a line In connection.

Unfortunately DDTS-100 is discontinued and hard to find. There does not seem to exist anything else dedicated to the task.

However, I found TRI-GA600 :: TRITTON Technologies, Inc. headphones, and the included audio controller seems to just right for the task.
