cant decide which to buy, ill be using these for a home computer setup in a moderately sized room, i dont need the speakers to be extremely loud or have insanely amounts of bass because i live in a townhouse and will really annoy the socks off my neighbors.
I was originally going for the Z-2300 because they are probably one of the best 2.1 set ups on the market, and they are not that expensive either, but then i found the z-4 which is quite abit cheaper (and thats savings that i can put a good use to) and has alot of positive feedback from the net, also they are stylish and black which matches the theme of my desktop well.
so my question is that is there that much of a difference between the z-4 and the z-2300 in terms of sound quality? if the difference is small then i would go for the z-4s as they are perfect for me. If the difference between the two is a totally new audio experience then i would have to stick with the z-2300s.
If you still want a .1 system the Klipsch's are a lot better then the Logitech's, but if you have a bit more to spend and you want a "qualified for Hi-Fi" speaker setup, i recommend some small active monitors with a pre-amp.
Most decent active monitors won't give the very low, house shaking base, but the whole sound signature is alot more neutral (and most of the times handle high frequencies better then the "made for PC" speakers). And at later times you can upgrade it with 2 rear speakers or a sub if you'd like that.
If this will be the only listening rig, i seriously recommend spending a bit more, this will save you from upgrading to it if you have chosen the .1 set.
