Default Logitech Wireless DJ opinions

Hi All. I might have a chance to pick up one of these for cheap. Great condition, still in the box.

Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, what's your opinion? How does it compare with the newer squeeze box setups?

Transmission method: Bluetooth 1.2 AD2P

it's going to sound like crap.

if it was wi-fi then I would say it might be an interesting product.

I havent tried it myself, but based on several reviews I have read, its ok, nothing great. It does seem to have quite a few nagging issues. Google gave me quite a few reviews on the device.

Hmm. Being new to the 'streaming audio' thing I would have to ask why wi-fi would be better than bluetooth. I can pick this up for $20, but if it is really going to sound bad, I might skip on it.

Bluetooth is very bandwidth limited. Max 128KB/s for the spec the product is using. Compared to 1-6MB/s (or higher) for 802.11B or G for wifi

So assuming you are using mp3s/aac/ogg/streaming radio you are taking already compressed music and then compressing it even more to stream it to the device.

Also I noticed that the wireless dj is an old product. It's no longer on logitechs website for sale and not available on amazon or newegg. So you might want to look around for more current products.

128KB/s max? Oh wow. That is low. While I know I would probably take a hit in performance for convenience, I didn't think it would be that low.

I guess even at $20 it isn't worth it.
