not exactly sure how good those are, but it does have a headphone jack. personally i tend to stick with headphones until i get shelf speakers, better than pc speakers imo.(cost more however)
For the price, pretty good. Unlike some of the cheaper Logitech speakers, the headphone jack in the Klipsch ProMedias is powered, which is a good thing for headphone users.
I think the promedias are a decent starting place for computer speakers. They are quite powerful and have strong bass. When I say they're powerful, I mean they can get really really loud (to my ears at least). I used these for music prior to my head-fi extravaganza with headphones. They don't quite satisfy my audio pleasures anymore..but I still use them from time to time when I don't feel like using headphones/have guests over. They have quite good bass, and good highs from the tweeter..however, the midrange just doesn't seem right to me after listening to decent headphones. Overall for the ~$100 that they go for, I think they're pretty decent for computer speakers. If I were in position to buy speakers today, then I'd likely buy a set of bookshelf speakers and an amp/receiver to connect to the computer.
edit: like the above poster mentioned, they do also come with a powered headphone jack

As speakers, I think the klipsch promedia 2.1 is mediocre. Great for video games and bringing out explosions while watching movies. Pay a little more and you might be able to get significant improvement in the quality department. I never heard these before because they are hard to find, but the swan m200 speakers might be a good alternative. I only have read good reviews about them. Newegg may carry them in stock on occasions.
If you want a headphone jack, I would exclusively go for a headphone amp or DAC combo. Even a small cheap DIY kit can beat most headphone jacks that come with computer speakers because the headphone jack on those speakers are a secondary feature. Usually computer jacks on computer speaker hiss and sound all funny. If your headphones are efficient enough, you might be better off plugging them into the sound card directly instead of the through the speakers.
I've had the pro's since the beginning of September. They are slightly bass heavy at first (kinda boomy and bloated) as Infinitesymphony mentioned, which seemed to take away from everything else. But with use, they sound better. I played around with the equalizer in iTunes, which also helped.
Definitely a starter system. I would order them through the Klipsch website because they have a 30 day trial.
yeah, the headphone jack is powered, but it also colors the sound quite a bit. Granted it did make my ksc75 sound better than coming straight from my soundcard, but I find the coloring to negatively effect my es7 and sf5p

I've heard promedia 2.1's and z2300 (its competitor) before. Promedia is a pretty good system, especially for watching movies and playing games. But its midrange is "muffled", making it unsuitable for musical listening (z2300 is even worse though). I would say go for m200 if you want more quality than quantity of sound. (its on sale at newegg).
